The alarm is an entry protection for the vehicle. The aim is prevent anyone getting into the vehicle or manipulating the vehicle in any way without being detected.
The alarm is available in various configurations:
- Perimeter guard. This configuration includes contact breakers in the lock motors, alarm LED and siren but no vehicle tilt sensor.
- Perimeter guard with motion sensor.
- Perimeter guard with motion sensor and siren with vehicle tilt sensor.
A heartbeat sensor (structure week -201020) is also available as an option for the alarm system. The heartbeat sensor can be installed for all configurations. However, it is only available as a factory option together with the keyless lock system.
Definitions:
- Deactivated: The alarm is not activated and is not protecting the vehicle
- Activated: The alarm is protecting the vehicle and will be triggered if there is an input signal from one of the sensors/contact breakers.
- Triggered: An alarm cycle has started. The siren sounds for 30 seconds and the turn signal lamps flash for approximately 5 minutes
- Reactivated: The alarm has been triggered and an alarm cycle has been completed. If a check of the sensors in the vehicle shows that they are OK the alarm will be reactivated.
Signals
The tables below summarize the input and output signals to the units in the system for the alarm. The signal types are divided into directly connected signals, serial communication and controller area network (CAN) communication.
