Menu system
The menu can be navigated on the screen using the buttons on the rear of the steering wheel.
The buttons consist of:
- a back button
- an enter button
- a navigation button that can move the marker on the screen up, down, left and right.
The navigation buttons are directly connected to the Steering wheel switch right (SWSR). The Steering wheel switch right (SWSR) interprets the information from the navigation buttons and transmits it on to the infotainment control module (ICM) (3/281) via a LIN bus. The infotainment control module (ICM) (3/281) transmits the commands on to the High Level Display Front (HLDF) (16/46) on the CAN network.
The remote control for the multimedia module (MMM) (16/108) has the same functions as the steering wheel buttons. It can be used for controlling the menus on the screen. This occurs through the IR signal being transmitted from the remote control to an IR receiver on the infotainment control module (ICM), which in turn transmits the signal on to the High Level Display Front (HLDF) on the CAN network.
For XC60 the IR-eye is located in keypad on the centre console.
