Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information TCM-P096900

Condition
Linear pressure solenoid SLC2 controls shifting in the transmission. Solenoid SLC2 works when it receives voltage from the transmission control module (TCM). The solenoid is activated during various driving conditions based on speed, throttle position and set driving program.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The measured current in the solenoid circuit is incorrect.
Solenoid SLC2 can then not regulate system pressure.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Shifting when linear pressure solenoid SLC2 is activated.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.





Substitute value
- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.

Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals.
- Open-circuit in the cable for the control signal or signal ground.
- Linear pressure solenoid SLC2 is stuck.
- Linear pressure solenoid SLC2 not working.

Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Malfunction indicator light (MIL), on
- Rough gear shift
- No gear shift
- Abnormal slipping gearshifts
