AFFECTED VEHICLES

DESCRIPTION:

Customers may complain about a wind noise around the A pillar area and/or windscreen particularly when the windscreen wipers are in use at or above 60 mph (100km/h). One possible cause is the rubber seal on the A pillar trim molding lifting. The Rubber has been modified (now stiffer) to avoid movement.





TOOLS





MATERIALS

SERVICE:

Remove the A pillar trim moldings (BOTH) and replace the rubber seal as described.





Remove both windscreen moldings.





Noting the installation of the seals; remove the sealing strip from the molding.

Install the new sealing strips
PN 31297722 left,
PN 31297723 right

When installing; Use bone tool, (PN 9814071) to ensure the seal is positioned securely in the channels as indicated here.

Reinstall the molding.

Verify the noise is eliminated.
