AFFECTED VEHICLES:

DESCRIPTION: If any of the vehicles listed above is equipped with the factory option "integrated two-stage booster cushion" the outer seatbelts have two-stage force limiters. With its two-stages, the belt force limiter can curb the forces on a child sitting on a booster cushion
or from an adult occupant in the rear seat in a way that reduces injury in the event of a severe frontal collision.

IMPORTANT: The two-stage booster cushion seatbelt construction and function differ from the non-booster cushion seatbelt. Therefore, the correct cushion and belt combination MUST be adhered to. Volvo's position is that the vehicle should not be altered from its original, as-built specification.





The integrated two-stage booster cushion
seatbelt tensioner has a gear ratio with a
gear rack and a gear system instead of a
piston with cable.

NOTE: With this type of seatbelt tensioner it is not
possible to manually check whether the seatbelt
tensioner has been deployed. This must always be
checked using VIDA
