AFFECTED VEHICLES

DESCRIPTION:

It has been discovered that the hood may be hard to open on the model / chassis listed above. Due to the shape of the wire stopper it may come out of the lever activating the hood latch.

TOOLS

SERVICE:

Disconnect the Hood latch cable, adjust and reinstall as described in the following instructions.

Note the area of the hood cable and the hood release.

A helper is required to get the hood latch cable in the correct position to open the hood.

Pull the hood latch cable down (see arrow) by hand.

Simultaneously; operate the hood release handle.

Bend the hood latch cable as shown. Hook and lift the cable with the "L-hook" (PN 9512943) then press down with a screwdriver as shown.

The access hole for the insertion of the tools is just behind the hood release handle on the driver's side of the grill.

See the inset picture for the final appearance of the cable after adjustment.

Verify the function of the hood latch release handle from inside the vehicle.
