- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.
Note! Wait at least three minutes before disconnecting the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.
- Take the wiring harness and protective cover from the kit.
- Attach the protective cover to the 4-pin connector.
- Take the connector holder from the kit. Fit the connector in the connector holder and press both halves of the holder together.
Note! Make sure the protective cover retaining strap is not pinched but is positioned in the recess in the connector holder.
- Take two screws and two nuts from the kit and install the connector in the bracket.
- Remove the rubber grommet from the floor and put this to one side. This will not be reused.
- Insert the cable with connector in the hole in the spare wheel well.
Note! Install the rubber grommet so that the cable points to the left on the inside.
- Route the wiring harness to the right toward the towbar and clip it to the connector bracket on the right-hand side of the connector using a cable tie.
- Route the wiring harness as illustrated and clip it to the left-hand bracket for the radiation shield using a cable tie with clip. Attach the clip so that the wiring harness comes away from the sharp edge of the bracket.
- Adapt the length of the wiring harness from the radiation shield's clamp to the rubber grommet.
- Push the new rubber grommet into the floor.
- Fold up and secure the insulating mats.
- Route the cable with the ground cable from the rubber grommet in front of the struts on the bracket for the electric Park Brake Module, up to the TRM unit.
- Plug the connector into the TRM unit.
Note! If the car is fitted with a MMM unit, the cables are routed and clipped in the same way by the bracket struts for this.
- Attach both cables to the rear struts on the electric Park Brake Module bracket and by the cable conduit. Use cable ties with and without clips.
- Connect the ground cable's black male connector (1) to the corresponding female connector (2) on the cable running from the forward outlet on the cable conduit.
- Clip the surplus cable by the cable conduit with a cable tie from the kit
