Parking assistance, rear































































INTRODUCTION
- NOTE! Read through the whole installation instruction before starting the work.
- The illustrations display the procedure in order of operation. The order of operation is repeated in the text






Parking assistance, rear










- Clean using isopropanol.
- Allow to dry.





- Apply a thin and even layer of activator to the cleaned surfaces.
- Use: 8637076 Activator.

Caution! Allow to dry for a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 30 minutes before painting.





- Paint the sensors the same colour as the vehicle. Use Volvo recommended paint. Paint a maximum of two layers (one base coat and one varnish coat).

Caution! Protect the connection's contact surfaces from paint. Too many layers of paint can result in the function partially or totally disappearing.

- When the paint has dried, reinstall the sealing rings.






Caution! Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.










- Fold the carpet to one side.

- CD panel removal.

- Release the hooks using a screwdriver.

Note! One side at a time.

- Press the panel out.















Note! The screws may be difficult to access.

1. Release the shift-lock function.
2. Move the gear selector to position "D".

- Reinstall the disconnected components in reverse order.










- Remove the side cushion by first pulling it backwards at the upper edge until the hook (1) releases. Then pull the side cushion inwards slightly until the hook (2) releases, and upwards until the locating pin (3) disengages from the mounting at the rear edge.





- Detach the C-pillar panel at the lower edge by prying out the lower edge until the two clips release. Angle out the lower edge of the panels and then unhook the upper edge.





- Remove the headlining panel by first pulling the rear edge downward so that the four clips release. Then unhook the front edge.





- Remove the smaller headlining panel by pulling it laterally so that the two hooks release. Then unhook the front edge of the panel.










- Use: 9995919 Hook. Insert into the holes on the upper edge of the cover. Turn the tool and pull off the cover.
- Remove the loading eyelet screws. Tightening torque M8 screws: 24 Nm (17.7 lbf.ft).














- Slacken off the two screws in the sill panel.





- Remove the sill panel by pulling it straight up so that the six clips release.





- Remove the screw.
- Remove the side panel by detaching and angling out the upper edge.














- Also carried out on the other side.






Note! This procedure is easier carried out by two people.
