Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information HCM-U041568

Condition
The control module is continuously supplied with information about the vehicle's speed from the Brake control module (BCM) via CAN-communication. The control module checks the quality of the information from the Brake control module (BCM).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Transmitting control module indicates a lower quality level of information than the Headlamp Control Module (HCM) accepts.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.
- Battery voltage higher than 10 V.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- The Headlamp Control Module (HCM) assumes that the vehicle speed is 50 km/h.

Possible source
- Fault-trace in transmitting control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- None.
