Function test
- Ignition on.
Check the front display's function by turning on the navigation system. The display shall fold up and the background lighting shall be lit.

Hint: If the screen is folded up and is lit, then voltage feed and CAN-communication is OK, which means that the problem is intermittent and may be more difficult to find.

Hint: Intermittent faults can be caused by interference at start up of the High Level Display Front (HLDF) or may be a different type of fault which occurs on different occasions.

Does the display function?

No - Checking the supply voltage/ground terminal

Checking the supply voltage/ground terminal
Check the power supply cable from the battery to High Level Display Front (HLDF) terminal #C2:1. Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the ground cable between the High Level Display Front (HLDF) terminal #C2:5 and the ground terminal. Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the fuse for the circuit.
Remedy as necessary.

- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Switch on the ignition for at least 10 seconds.
Check the front display's function by turning on the navigation system. The display shall fold up and the background lighting shall be lit.
Try communicating with the control module by selecting one of the functions for vehicle communication under the Diagnostic tab.

Does the display function?
