Checking the wiring and component
Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) controls the hydraulic operation of the tailgate. If the hydraulic pump does not work this indicates open circuit, short-circuiting to ground/voltage, relay problem in module or that the pump has failed.
Check the cables for open circuit and short-circuiting to ground/voltage.
If the leads are intact, replace Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) and its hydraulic parts.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied.

- Ignition off.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
- Check the function by opening and closing the tailgate using the different button combinations.
- Read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol.
- Check that the diagnostic trouble code has disappeared or changed status to intermittent. Then the problem has been solved.

Initiation of tailgate's position
After changing Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) the tailgate's position must be initiated in the software.

Carry out as follows:

- Load new software into the control module.
- Click the VCT2000 symbol and follow the instructions there.
