Motion sensor rear

Preparatory work

Ignition off




Ignition off.

Removal

Removing the mass movement sensor module (MMS) rear




Release the rear section of the headlining. See: Headlining with sun roof Service and Repair.

Hint: The sensor is secured to the top of the headlining using double-sided adhesive tape.

Caution! Take extra care not to crease the headliner.

Carefully bend down the headlining. Twist off the sensor.
Disconnect the sensor connectors.

Installation

Installing the mass movement sensor module (MMS) rear





Note! The position of the mass movement sensor (MMS) is important to the function of the alarm. The sensor must be installed within the marking on the headlining as illustrated.The sensor must be installed so that it is straight. It must not be turned more than a maximum of 5°. The connector must be to the right looking forwards in the car.

Connect the connector.
Remove the backing from the tape. Only use the tape supplied with the sensor.
Press the sensor into place in the top of the headlining using the tape. Press by hand for at least 15 seconds.
Install the headlining. See: Headlining with sun roof Service and Repair.
