Test driving on lift, automatic transmission
Test driving
Warning! Ensure that the vehicle is safely raised. Check that no objects are caught in the tire treads.
Caution! The test must be carried out on a raised vehicle so that all four wheels are free to turn, with attachment a long way out on the link arms, so as not to damage the drive shafts.
Note! If the vehicle has STC or DSTC, the function must be deactivated.
Hint: Read the oil pressure sensor signal using parameter readout, graphical display.
Test 1
- Ignition off.
- Depress the brake pedal.
- Move the gear selector lever to the P position.
- Start the engine.
- Move the gear selector lever to the D position.
- Release the brake pedal so that the vehicle idles. At least one wheel on each axle should rotate.
Read the oil pressure sensor signal to check functionality. Oil pressure should be between 0.6 and 1.2 MPa.
Test 2
- Ignition off.
- Move the gear selector lever to the P position.
- Engage the parking brake.
- Start the engine.
- Depress the brake pedal.
- Move the gear selector lever to the D position.
- Release the brake pedal and the parking brake slowly at idle ("simulation of hill start").
- The front wheels should now rotate slower than normal and the rear wheels should be stationary.
Read the oil pressure sensor signal to check functionality. Oil pressure should be between 1.0 and 1.8 MPa.
