Active On-Demand Coupling Oil Pump

Preparatory work

Removing components

Remove the following items:
- propeller shaft. Propeller Shaft
- the flange from the four wheel drive coupling. Service and Repair

Removal

Removing the oil pump
Ignition off

Note! Thoroughly clean around the oil pump before beginning removal.




Position a container underneath the Active on Demand Coupling.

Remove:
- the connector from the Differential Electronic Module (DEM) to the active on demand coupling (AOC)
- the cable harness mountings
Remove the two screws from the oil pump. Pull the pump straight out from the active on demand coupling (AOC).

Note! Later versions of the oil pump have the socket for the cable harness on the side of the oil pump housing. The cable harness is shorter. This version replaces all previous versions, also as spare part.

Installation

Installing the oil pump




Thoroughly check that the oil pump seat in the Active on Demand Coupling is clean. There must not be any lint from paper or cloths.




Check that the new O-rings are in position. Lubricate the O-rings with oil for the clutch (AOC). Refer to: Lubrication transmission Tools and Equipment




Install the oil pump. Press in the pump as far as possible. Install the pump's bolts alternately to light contact. Tighten the bolts.
Torque: M5, 5 Nm

Connect the connector.

Filling and checking the oil level
Top up and check the oil level in the active on demand coupling (AOC), the front level plug.
Use oil. Refer to: Lubrication transmission Tools and Equipment
Tighten the level plug.
Torque: Oil filler plug, bevel gear, 35 Nm
