TPMS=Tire pressure monitoring system

DESCRIPTION:
The TPMS nuts on the above listed vehicles may corrode in areas where high concentrations of road salt are used.

SERVICE:

A. If corrosion is noted on one or more of the nuts, but the valve stems are still in good condition, perform the following on all four wheels:

Replace the corroded nuts with part number 31302098 (4 per vehicle):

- Clean the area around the valve stem.

- Remove the corroded nut.

- Install a new nut, tighten to 8 Nm (6 lbs/ft)

- Check that the tire pressure is set correctly.

Avoid putting direct pressure on the valve stem which could disturb the seal between the TPMS sensor and the rim.

Part number 31302098 is a TPMS sensor service kit containing addition parts which are not needed to perform this specific repair.

B. If the stems are also corroded, perform the following on all four wheels:

- Install the entire service kit (stem, nut, seal, washer) according to VIDA.
