DESCRIPTION:
Customers may complain of a strong whining noise from the power steering pump during steering maneuvers.
Fault tracing has shown the filter inside the reservoir can be clogged and may cause the oil level to look unstable due to the pressurized oil stream. Normally the oil level shall be stable when the car is stationary and idling.
SERVICE:
Drain the power steering oil from the reservoir and check the filter inside the reservoir thoroughly.
If the filter is clogged, replace the reservoir.
