DESCRIPTION:
The RT1 navigation screen may become/remain black at start-up. Vehicles with PAC (Parking Assistance Camera) may have a correctly shown rear camera view in reverse gear, but no navigation view when changing to forward driving gears.
PRODUCT MODIFICATION:
New software for the MMM2 was introduced with the 11W48 version
of the map upgrade disc. All subsequent map upgrades contain the updated software.
REPORTING:
Yes, please contact the Technical HelpDesk only if the fault persists after the software update. Please describe the symptom in as much detail as possible with any present DTCs listed in the vehicle. Also, submit the information from the "about" screen in the system menu.
SERVICE:
Please do not replace any components. Update the MMM2 unit with the latest Map Upgrade disc.
Note:
Registered Map Care customers will automatically receive the latest update disc. For Non-MapCare customers who do not wish to purchase a Map upgrade disc set, please contact the Technical HelpDesk for assistance.
All map discs released after 11W48 will fix this issue. The release date is located after the part number printed on the disc case (see photo).
The latest (as of the date of this journal) MMM2 Map upgrade (12w48) is available through http://www.navigation.com/volvomapupdate
Discs can also be purchased through the parts system: P/N 31382182
The previous disc (11W48) P/N 31357079 can also be used to remedy this issue.
