DESCRIPTION:
A new SCL (Steering Column Lock) was planned to be introduced in production 2010w20.
The new SCL is only working together with the latest CEM software also introduced from structure week 2010w20. Due to "use up" the new SCL was already introduced in production before structure week 2010w20 These cars do not have the latest CEM Software and will show a DIM Message stating:
KEY ERROR - TRY AGAIN" as soon as the key is inserted.
PRODUCT MODIFICATION:
A new CEM software for cars with structure week between 2009w46 to 2010w20 has been developed.
For cars up to structure week 200945 a new CEM software is under development to make it compatible with the new SCL.
SERVICE:
For cars produced 2007w20-2009w45:
SCL spare part: PN 31202090
NOTE:
It is a must to use this part due to that the CEM software for these vehicles is not yet compatible with the new SCL that was introduced 2010w20.
For cars produced between 2009w46 and forward:
Use SCL spare part: PN 31280656
NOTE:
If cars between 2009w46-2010w19 has a warning message in DIM "Key error - try again", perform a CEM upgrade. If the message is still shown after upgrade, continue with ordinary fault tracing according to VIDA.
