This document supersedes the previous one dated 2010-01-27. Changes to this document are:
- New BPM SW release on 2011-09-21
- Changed format
- Updated chassis breaks and structure weeks
DESCRIPTION:
The communication between the BPM and the mobile phone may suddenly be interrupted. An audible beep may be heard from the mobile phone approximately 2 seconds before the Bluetooth sign and signal strength disappears from the TCM display. See attached picture Discon_BT.JPG.
Manually reconnecting the mobile phone is no problem, it will reconnect immediately after pressing the ENTER button if it is in "phone-mode".
If the audio is in any other audio source mode, the Bluetooth sign and signal strength may disappear from the TCM display without any notice and any incoming call will only be connected to the mobile phone.
PRODUCT MODIFICATION:
The root cause has been found. It is related to the AT-command handling and timing between BPM and mobile phone.
Service SW solution for all BPM HW's are released.
The same SW has been introduced into production from structure week 200947 for:
S80 with chassis number from 123199-
V70 with chassis number from 142311-
XC70 with chassis number from 082470-
XC60 with chassis number from 086689-
The same SW has been introduced into production from structure week 200949 for:
C30 with chassis number from 192860-
S40 with chassis number from 501509-
V50 with chassis number from 550793-
C70 partly from chassis number 097538-
NEW INFO:
A redesigned BPM SW was released 2011-09-21 for vehicles with structure week 200848-201119. This BPM SW has support for a prioritized transfer of phonebook and call lists via PBAP (PhoneBook Access Profile) prior to AT-command transfer. It will therefore minimize the risk for interruption by the found root-cause. This BPM SW will also increase the maximum quantity of phonebook numbers to 1250 instead of earlier 750. This is possible due to that the maximum number of paired phones has been decreased from 5 to 3 phones.
SERVICE:
Please do not replace any parts if the above described symptom occurs. For any of these vehicles with a structure week greater than or equal to 200848, please order and download the BPM upgrade SW.
