Compressor Clutch: Service and Repair






Electromagnetic clutch

Removal

Note! Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the following items:
- battery Refer to: Battery Removal and Replacement
- air filter housing. Refer to: Air cleaner housing, B6304T2, TF-80SC AWD Service and Repair




















Slacken the tensioner. Use: 19 mm fixed wrench. Lock the tensioner in tensioned position. Use: 3 mm pin.












When removing: Push out the pins from the belt pulley.




Turn the power steering pump upwards, backwards.




Carefully lift away the AC-compressor without loosening the pipe connections.





Note! Note the position of the component before removal.

Torque: air conditioning clutch drive plate, 24 Nm









Installation

When installing: Use a feeler gauge to check the play between the rotary plate and the belt pulley. Measure at several spots around the entire rotary plate. Play should be between 0.3 and 0.6 mm. Replace the shims if play is not within the specified values.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
