AFFECTED VEHICLES:

DESCRIPTION:

Due to a faulty hyperlink in VIDA Vehicle Communication, it is not possible to activate the engine cooling fan at 100% using VIDA. Because of this, cooling fans in the aforementioned vehicles are being replaced unnecessarily. It is possible to activate the fan at 33% and 66% and these are the settings that should be used to determine if the fan works or not during diagnostics. See the screen-print on the next page of this RTJ. Once the issue in VIDA is resolved, this RTJ will be closed.

SERVICE:

DO NOT REPLACE THE ENGINE COOLING FAN solely for the reason of lack of functionality at 100% using VIDA! If a customer symptom or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) relates to the engine cooling fan, refer to VIDA for DTC information and fault tracing.
