Removal
Caution! The components work together. If one component is damaged, both must be replaced at the same time.
Note! Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
Remove the following items:
- generator. Refer to: Generator, B6304T2 Service and Repair Generator Service and Repair
- inner timing cover. Refer to: Gasket, inner timing cover, B6304T2 Gasket, Inner Timing Cover
- carrier plate. Refer to: Carrier plate, B6304T2, TF-80SC AWD Service and Repair Carrier plate Service and Repair
Caution! The components work together. If one component is damaged, both must be replaced at the same time.

Carefully break at the lugs to detach the gear housing from the cylinder block.
Caution! Be extra careful when handling this component.
To ensure that the lock pin follows at removal, screw a self-tapping screw into the lock pin.
1. Use: Self-tapping screws� 4mm. screw in the lock pin.
2. 999 7315 Puller 999 7315 Puller Use: 2 pcs, M8x25.
3. Use the nut and carefully pull out the unit. Check that the lock pin follows!
After removal, inspect the lock pin. If the lock pin has snapped in the cylinder block, the shaft has worn in its bearing recess, which means that the cylinder block must be discarded.

Use: Drill 4 mm.
Use: Self-tapping screw.
Note! Considerable force is required for this task.

Remove the snap rings on both sides.

Place the gear housing in a press as illustrated.
1. Use: Hot air gun. Heat the housing around the bearing recess to 70-140° C.

Press out the auxiliaries shaft and bearing.

This procedure releases the cam drive shaft's pulley.

Installation
Note! do not release the transportation protection ring in the bearing!
Install a new bearing.

Press in the bearing to a maximum of 25 kN.
Install the cam drive shaft's pulley and cam drive shaft.

Press in the cam drive shaft to a maximum of 45 kN.
Use: Isopropanol, 1161721
Clean the outside of the bearing.
Use: Isopropanol, 1161721
Clean the bearing's seat in the gear housing.
Use: Metal adhesive, 1161722
Apply metal adhesive as illustrated.

Press in the auxiliaries shaft with its bearing. Press to a maximum of 30 kN.
Install the snap rings.

Torque: Chain wheel, 400 Nm
Caution! Be extra careful when handling this component.

Note! Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
Use: Liquid gasket, 1161771
Caution! Be extra careful when handling this component.
Note! Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.
Ensure that the guide sleeves are in place.
Torque: Gear housing
Stage 1: 10 Nm
Stage 2: 24 Nm
Note! Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
Use: Liquid gasket, 1161771
Use: screwdriver.

Note! Make sure that new components are installed.
3. Lock by deforming the washer.
Note! Use a new seal.

Torque: Intermediate shaft alternator side, 40 Nm
Torque: M6, 10 Nm
Install the following items:
- inner timing cover. Refer to: Gasket, inner timing cover, B6304T2 Gasket, Inner Timing Cover
- generator. Refer to: Generator, B6304T2 Service and Repair Generator Service and Repair
- carrier plate. Refer to: Carrier plate, B6304T2, TF-80SC AWD Service and Repair Carrier plate Service and Repair
