Checking the sensor
Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) checks the hydraulic operation of the tailgate with a hall sensor. Hall sensor shall only be active when there is over-pressure in the hydraulic system, e.g., in case of clamping something or just when the tailgate reaches completely open position.
Check hall sensor by:
- Ignition on.
- Click on the symbol for VCT2000 and read out status for hall sensor.
- If status for hall sensor shows short-circuiting or open circuit the next two steps can be skipped.
- If status for hall sensor shows active, when the hydraulic motor is not run, the hydraulic pump is damaged. Then replace Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) and its hydraulic parts.
- Check that the hall sensor works by closing the tailgate and hold down until it opens again. The status shall change just before the tailgate opens.

Checking the components and wiring
If short-circuiting or open circuit is obtained when reading out status of hall sensor, the cable harness between Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) and hall sensor shall be checked. Also check the connector for Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) for loose connection and oxidation.
If the cable harness is intact, replace Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) and its hydraulic parts.
Checks after replacement
Check that the latest software is in the module by downloading an upgrade for Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT).
