Fault-Tracing
Fault-tracing
Checking the fuel injection system, ignition system and components
Note! In the event of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), that affect camshaft control or camshaft reset valve, these must be fault-traced first.
Check the fuel level in the tank.
Check that the engine oil level is correct.
Check for moisture in the electrical terminals for the ignition coils and in the spark plug well.
Check the spark plugs. Search for damage to the insulation and other damage.
Check the engine intake system for air leakage.
Check the fuel pressure and residual pressure.
Carry out a cylinder leak test.
Hint: Read off the misfire counter by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After repairing, it is necessary to check that the malfunction has been fixed.
- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Start the engine.
Check that the misfiring counter does not count up and that the engine runs on all cylinders.
Note! Misfire can occur at different engine speeds and loads.
