Fault-tracing
Checking the wiring and terminals
- Ignition off, wait for 10 seconds.
- Disconnect the connector for Supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
- Disconnect the connector from the central electronic module (CEM).
Check connectors for damage to pins and connections.
Check the connectors. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance. Check for oxidation.
Also check the other connectors and terminals that join the signal cable between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the central electronic module (CEM).
Check the cable for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the cable for short-circuit to ground.
Check the cable for an open-circuit.
Take readings between:
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) terminal #C2:26(#A1) and central electronic module (CEM) terminal #C3:18(#E18).
Remedy as necessary.

Verification
Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Switch on the ignition. Wait 10 seconds.
Read diagnostic trouble codes by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.
If the fault is intermittent, the fault has been remedied.
