AFFECTED VEHICLES
DESCRIPTION:
Volvo Car Company has discovered an error in the map data in a small amount of vehicles equipped with a HDD (hard disc drive) navigation system. This error will cause the navigation system to route away from highways that contains HOV (High occupancy vehicle) or car pool lanes. The error will occur regardless of the menu setting "avoid time restricted roads" Yes or No.
SERVICE:
If the vehicle is identified in SMB 39-210, Please load a Map upgrade using the DVD supplied to your retailer for this purpose as part of the CPS plus. Follow the instructions supplied with the disc package.
Important:
^ The upgrade procedure can take approximately 140 minutes. Please use a vehicle power supply or battery charger during the loading procedure to maintain battery voltage.
^ When completed the map upgrade disc must remain in the vehicle for the system to operate.
NOTE:
Some of the affected vehicles have been retail delivered. In this case, the customers have been contacted and a map upgrade disc has been mailed to them directly. If the customer is not comfortable performing this procedure themselves they have been asked to schedule an appointment and supply the upgrade disc that was mailed to them for loading by the retailer.
