Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The engine control module (ECM) checks that the camshaft is in the correct position in relation to the position of the crankshaft. If the camshaft position does not match the crankshaft position, the control module will adjust the adaptation for the camshaft position. The adaptation value corresponds to the difference between the camshaft and crankshaft.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The fuel trim value change is greater than 16 degrees.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Hot engine.
- During engine start-up.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- The control module assumes a fixed value for fuel trim.
Possible source
- Incorrectly adjusted camshafts.
- Damaged VVT-unit.
