Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

Evaporator

NOTE: Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.

Removal

Remove the expansion valve.

Remove the following items:
- the glove compartment.
- the passenger compartment filter.
- the panel to the center console.
- passenger compartment relay distribution box control module








NOTE: Note the position of the seals.

Installation

Change and lubricate the O-rings with compressor oil.





Apply the new seals.

Install the new pipes on the evaporator.





Install the expansion valve and its pipe hose connections.

Install passenger compartment relay distribution box control module.

Vacuum pump the air conditioning system.

Fill the air conditioning system with refrigerant.

Leak-trace the air conditioning system.

Carry out a performance test on the climate control system.

Install the following items:
- the panel to the center console.
- the glove compartment.
