INTRODUCTION
- NOTE! Read through the whole installation instruction before starting the work.
- The illustrations display the procedure in order of operation. The order of operation is repeated in the text section
Cable harness kit for towbar, 7-pin
- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.
- Lift out the cargo compartment carpet.
- Detach the rubber strip in the cargo compartment opening.
- Remove the sill trim panel by first pulling it forward until the two clips in the front edge release. Then pull it upward until the two clips in the top edge release.
- Fold the left-hand rear seat backrest forward.
Remove:
- the three clips in the top edge of the side panel
- the four plastic nuts in the lower edge of the side panel
- the connector to the cargo compartment lighting
- Lift out the side panel.
- Take three screws and nuts from the kit and install the connector in the bracket.
- Remove the rubber grommet in the floor and place it to one side, it shall not be used again.

- Insert the cable with the connector into the hole in the spare wheel well and install the rubber grommet.
- Adapt the length of the cable from the connector to the rubber grommet so that the cable is not too slack beneath the car.
- Undo the secondary catch on the connector by carefully prizing down the locking catch and moving the catch forward.
- Connect the cable harness' blue (BL) loose cable to one of the connector's positions 2, 6 or 8 depending on the function required:
- 2 = Charging
- 6 = Reversing lamp
- 8 = Rear fog lamp
- Press the secondary catch into the connector.
- Plug the grey connector into the trailer module (TRM).
- Take the ground screw from the kit and secure the ground lead to the ground terminal in the rear crossmember. Torque tighten the screw, tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 lb.ft.)
- Clamp up the cable harness at the existing cable harness using two tie straps from the kit.
Checking the 7-pin connector
Note! The trailer module (TRM) must be programmed with software in order to function correctly.
- Reinstall the connector and side panel in the cargo compartment.
- Reinstall the sill trim panel.
- Reinstall the rubber strip.
- Reinstall the cargo compartment carpet.
- Fold back the left-hand rear seat backrest.
