Protective tape, sill, replacement

Removal

Removing protective tape




Pull the protective tape off the rear section of the sill (dogleg).

Installation

Installing protective tape




Tape the trim strip as illustrated.
Clean the surface where the protective tape is be located. Use a lint free cloth and a mixture of 50% Isopropanol and 50% water.





Note! Before securing the protective tape to the sill spray the area with a mixture of 50% Isopropanol and 50% water.

There are two types of protective tape, one for the left hand side and one for the right hand side.
To prevent fingerprints remove the center tab of the protective tape and secure to the sill as illustrated. Align the corners of the protective tape at (1) and against the sill edge (2).
Press the center section of the protective tape firmly into place.




Remove the other backing paper from the protective tape and press firmly into place on the upper side as illustrated.




Secure the protective tape over the edge starting at the middle and then pressing outwards.
Press out the protective tape so that no air bubbles are trapped.
Wipe the area dry.
Reinstall the trim strip by removing the tape.
