INTRODUCTION

- NOTE! Read through the whole installation instruction before starting the work.
- The illustrations display the procedure in order of operation. The order of operation is repeated in the text section.

Note! During installation the car and parts must maintain a temperature of at least +20° C (68° F).





- Take 4 sensors from the kit.
- Remove the rubber ring from the sensors.





- Clean the surfaces of the sensors illustrated. Use isopropanol.
- Allow to dry.
- Apply a thin and even coat of activator on the cleaned surfaces and allow to dry for a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 30 minutes before painting.





- Paint the sensors with the same color code as the car. Use paint recommended by Volvo. Paint max. two layers (1 layer base coat and 1 layer clear coat). Protect connections so that paint does not end up on the contact surfaces.

Caution! Too many layers of paint may result in partial or complete malfunction.

- When the paint has dried, reinstall the sealing rings.





- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.

Note! Wait at least one minute before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.





- Detach the panel by carefully bending apart at the lower edge. Bend between the panel and bumper casing until the first catch releases. Then pull the panel straight out so that all catches release.





- Remove the 2 clips.





- Pull the cover for the headlight washer straight up.





- Hold the washer with pliers.
- Loosen the cover from the nozzle acc. to the illustration above.
- Let the washer carefully slide back and repeat the step on the car's other side.

Note! Take care not to scratch the bumper.





- Use a pry tool and carefully bend between the fender and the corner of the bumper casing so that the top catch releases.
- Pull the casing straight out until all catches have released.





- Open the engine hood.
- Remove the 2 screws.





- Lift the bumper casing forward.
- Loosen the quick-coupling for the headlight washer.
- Loosen the connector for fog lights.
- Remove the bumper casing.





- Cut away the corner on the plastic foam acc. to the illustration.
- Done on both sides.





- Localize the markings where the plastic foam was removed.
- Saw out acc. to the markings with a keyhole saw. At the top edge the slot shall be sawed through the outer casing, plastic foam and inner casing at the same time.
- Repeat the step on the car's other side.





- Remove the headlight washer on both sides by removing the clip (1) and screws (2).





- Mark out where the quick-coupling is located in relation to the bumper casing.
- Remove the headlight washers with hoses.





- Part outer and inner casing by loosening the 8 catches at the same time as the casings are pulled apart, and continue to pull apart the casings until all catches release.





- Localize the 2 markings on the outside of the inner casing's right and left side.
- Saw out the slots with a keyhole saw.





- Localize the 2 markings on the inside of the outer casing's right and left side.
- Mark centre with a scribe (marking scraper).





- Localize the 2 markings on the inside of the trim panel.
- Mark centre with a scribe (marking scraper).





- Drill holes in the markings' centre with a - 3 mm (1/8") drill bit. Drill from the trim panel's and bumper casing's inside.
- Drill out the holes. Use a -10 mm (13/32") diameter drill bit.
- Enlarge the holes in the trim panel and bumper casing with hole tool part no. 9997234. The hole tool's support sleeve shall be on the inside and the cutting part on the outside of the bumper casing.





- Clean the trim panel's and bumper casing's insides with a mild soap solution.
- Clean around the holes and the markings using an isopropanol cleaning cloth.
- Allow to dry.
- Apply a thin layer of activator, part no. 8637076, to the cleaned surfaces and let dry for approx. 10 min.





- Take 4 holders from the kit and clean the surface (1) illustrated using isopropanol.
- Allow to dry.
- Apply a thin and even coat of activator to the cleaned surfaces and allow to dry for at least 10 minutes.





- Use a pry tool, carefully bend loose and remove the cover panel over the joint between the sill panels.





- Loosen the sill panel (1) and the right panel (2) of the centre console.





- Remove the screws and sound proofing bracket.
- Fold aside the floor mat so that the hole to the engine compartment becomes visible.





- Remove the panel in the right front seat attachment on the second seat row by pressing in the lock catch (1) on the top side and pull the panel forward.
- Remove the screw.





- press in the catches (1) and remove the seat panel.
- Remove the screw.





- Fold the backrest forward and push the seat as far forward as possible. On cars with two rows of seats the seat cannot be pushed forward.
- Remove both rear panels (1) by pulling them straight up.
- Remove the screws.
- Lift out the seat.
