Differential Lock: Specifications

Component specification

Oil pressure and temperature sensor

General

Type
Oil pressure sensor: Linear Piezo resistive pressure sensor, bridge connected.
Oil temperature sensor: Temperature dependent resistor (Thermistor) of the negative temperature coefficient (NTC) type.
The sensors are integrated in the same component.

characteristic
Oil pressure sensor: -
Oil temperature sensor: The resistance between terminal #1 and #4 must be 5.7 k ohms at +20 °C. the resistance drops with ascending temperature.

Terminal

Check
Conditions (unless otherwise specified):
- Readings taken on loose component.

Oil pressure sensor:
Connect 5 V direct current between the sensor's terminal pin #2 and #4. Take readings between #3 and #4. The value must be 0.25 - 0.50 V.

Oil temperature sensor:
Measure the resistance between sensor's terminal pin #1 and #4, The value should be:
R = approximately 7.0 k ohms at +15 °C.
R = approximately 5.7 k ohms at +20 °C.
R = approximately 4.7 k ohms at +25 °C.
R = approximately 3.9 k ohms at +30 °C.
R = approximately 3.2 k ohms at +35 °C.

Electric feed pump

General

Type
The electrical feed pump consists of a PWM controlled electrical motor and a gear pump.

characteristic
The resistance between terminal #1 and #2 should be approximately 3 - 5 ohms at +20 °C.

Other information
None.

Terminal

Check

Check 1
Measure the resistance between feed pump's terminal pin #1 and #2. The value should be approximately 3 - 5 ohms at +20 °C.

Check 2
Measure the resistance between the feed pump casing and terminal pin #1. The value should be much greater or infinite.

Check 3
Measure the resistance between the feed pump casing and terminal pin #2. The value should be much greater or infinite.
