Incorrect Service Oil Fill Quantities

Description:

For the 3.2 and 3.0T engines the oil fill capacities and the difference in capacity between maximum and minimum may be incorrectly stated in VIDA, and owners manuals.

The oil capacities are different for model years 2007 and 2008, with less oil used to fill a 2008 engine due to a changed design of the oil sump and pickup.





The correct capacities are shown above.

Fill quantities are approximate, engine oil level should be verified after service. Oil level is verified by fully warming the engine and then allowing the oil to drain back to the pan for at least 15 minutes.

Volvo recommends Castrol's SAE 5W-30 GTX motor Oil, as a minimum standard for this engine. Service manager Bulletin 22-003 can be referenced for more information on recommended engine oil.
