Navigation system, portable, Installation kit TMC (Continued)
Applies to cars where Navigation system portable and Navigation system, portable, Installation kit TMC kit are all installed.
Applies to cars with loudspeaker grilles.
First carry out steps 67-120 of the Navigation system portable installation instructions.
Note! At step 93, drill out the hole to - 30 mm (1 3/16") to make room for the foamed ferrite.
Then carry out steps 17-61 of the Navigation system, portable, Installation kit TMC installation instructions.

Applies to cars with portable Navigation system installed
- Place the front seat in its rearmost position.
- Turn the ignition key to position 0.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.
Note! Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.
- Prize away the holder for the switch at the lower edge.
- Then prize at the upper edge while coaxing and pulling it out.
- Locate the holes. Pull the panel with air vents straight out.
- Use special tool 9512943.
- Remove the bolts of the panel underneath the glovebox and remove it.
- Remove the two screws.

- Remove the six screws.
- Pull out the glove box slightly.
- Disconnect the connector at the rear edge.
- Remove the connectors on top and disconnect them.
- Remove the glovebox.
Gain access to disconnect the connector through the space where the glove box was.
- Disconnect the connector and remove the short cable splice from the GPS cradle. The catch is on the front edge of the connector.
- Follow the disconnected cable from the GPS cradle and disconnect the connector from the adjoining cable.
- Place the short cable splice to one side. A new one is in the kit.
- Remove the tunnel console's left side panel by carefully pulling it loose starting at the trailing edge. It is secured with six clips on the inside.
- Fold aside the floor mat on the left side of the center console.
- Unplug the two connectors on the left side at the lever carrier.
- Disconnect the female connector for the fibre optic cables from the lever carrier bracket.
Remove the panel around the display and the media player:
- Press in the catch at one of the panel's upper corners. Use a small screwdriver. Carefully pry off the radio panel on the same side. Use a plastic weatherstrip tool.
- Carry out the same procedure on the other side. Then fold the radio panel backward in the vehicle.
- Pull up the radio panel until it detaches.
Hint: If there is difficulty removing the panel, press the panel back into place on both sides and start the removal procedure again. Start from the opposite side to before.
- Remove the gear lever panel by carefully prizing it away starting at the rear edge and then continuing forward. It is fitted with six catches underneath.

- Remove the gear lever panel from the boot. First press in the four catches around the panel. Then pull the panel up. On certain car models there is a keypad at the front edge of the panel. If this is the case, remove the connector on the right-hand side in the centre console to be able to remove the panel.
- Fold up the cover for the storage compartment in the rear section of the tunnel console.
- Remove the covers and screws at the rear edge of the upper panel section of the centre console. First remove the screws on the rear of the panel and then remove the remaining screws on the top, ten in total.
- Remove the edge clip with cable from the lower section of the centre console.
- Remove the upper section of the panel by moving it backward at the front edge and then lifting it out from the front edge of the storage compartment.
- Remove the two screws in the media player and pull it out and place it in front of the gear lever.
- Disconnect the connector for the antenna from the media player.
- Take the TMC unit and the antenna cable from the kit and connect the antenna cable to OUT on the TMC unit.
- Take the TMC unit and pull up the long cable through the hole for the ventilation grille.
- Take foam tape from the kit and cut off a suitable length to wrap the ferrite.
- Remove the masking tape.
- Take the cable splice with ferrite from the kit and wrap the ferrite with foam tape.
- Take the cable splice and secure the grey connector instead of the previously removed one.
- Connect the connectors on the cable splice from the GPS cradle to the connector from the routed cable on the TMC unit, as well as the three pin green connector to the cable that was disconnected/routed previously.
- Take the cut piece of foam tape and remove the protective tape.
- Wrap up the connected green connectors using foam tape.
- Place the foamed connector on the right-hand side of the centre air outlet together with the two cables.
- Secure the cables at the bracket to the centre air outlet. Ensure that there is some slack in the cable to the foamed connector.
- Take a piece of butyl tape and press the small green connector as well as the cable to the TMC unit at the lower edge of the hole to the centre air outlet.
- Connect the antenna cable that was disconnected from the media player to IN on the TMC unit.
- Connect the remaining cable end from the TMC unit to the media player.
- Take the foam tape from the kit and remove the protective tape.
- Wrap foam tape around the TMC unit.
- Place the TMC unit with all the cable excess in the space under the media player.
- Reinstall the media player. Ensure that no cables are trapped.
- Ensure that the cables from the GPS holder do not get trapped by the air vents.
- Pull out the cable with contact to the hazard warning light.

- Connect the connectors to the glove box. Reinstall the glove box.
- Turn the ignition key to position II.
- Reconnect the battery negative lead.
