Alarm, switch
- Turn the ignition key to position 0.
- Carefully prize away the panel around the gear selector lever using a weatherstrip tool. It is secured along the longitudinal sides with six catches. Start prizing in the rear edge of the panel.
- Twist / remove the panel, so that the row with switches/dummy buttons is accessible.
The new switch must be fitted in the first available button location seen from the steering wheel.
Note! The illustrations show a left-hand drive car.
Hint: In the cases where the switch shall be located furthest out in the button row, first remove the closest adjacent dummy to avoid damaging the centre console panel:
- Remove the penultimate dummy button in the button row by carefully prizing it out using two small screwdrivers as illustrated.
Note! Always prize against the surfaces that are subsequently covered by the gear selector lever panel (under the dotted line).
- Carefully prize away the dummy button where the new switch shall be fitted. Use the thumb of your other hand to counterhold at the same time.
Note! Do not insert the screwdriver so far that the circuit board in the bottom is damaged.
- Place the dummy button that shall not be re-used to one side.
- Install the new switch from the kit, and any dummy button.
- Reinstall the panel around the gear selector lever
