Checking for permanent or intermittent faults

- Ignition on.
Check that the sun roof can be moved to its limit positions.

Can the sun roof be operated?

Yes - Intermittent fault

No - Checking the connectors

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the connectors
Check the connector between the sun roof module (SRM) and sun roof motor. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check that fuse 11C/34 (11C/26 XC90) in the passenger compartment fuse box is intact.
Check connector 54/13. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.

Other information:
- To access the connector between the sun roof module (SRM) and motor, see Electric motor, sun roof, replacing Service and Repair.
- Checking wiring and terminals Checking Wiring And Terminals.

Was a fault detected?

Yes - Verification

No - Checking for open-circuits and short-circuits

-------------------------------------------------

Checking for open-circuits and short-circuits
Check the cable between sun roof module (SRM) terminal #10A and ground, left A-post. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the cable between the sun roof module (SRM) terminal #1A and fuse 11C/34 (11C/26 XC90) in the passenger compartment fuse box for a short-circuit to ground or an open-circuit.
Replace the cable if a fault is found.
After carrying out repairs, the sun roof module (SRM) should be calibrated. See Sun roof module (SRM), calibrating .

Other information:
- For further information about signals and other values, see Signal specification Signal Specification, Upper Electronic Module (UEM).
- To connect the breakout box, see Connecting the breakout box Connecting the Breakout Box.
- To access the sun roof module (SRM) connector, see Sun roof module (SRM), replacing Service and Repair.
