AFFECTED VEHICLES:
DESCRIPTION:
Customers may report a knocking noise from the rear of the RHT. The cause can be contact between the striker roller and the rear roof latches. This most often occurs when driving on uneven roads. Changes to the lubrication of the rear latches was introduced in production from chassis number 73556.

SERVICE:
Once the noise has been confirmed as the rear latch follow the instructions here and test drive the vehicle to ensure the noise is eliminated.
Preparation
Open the RHT to the service position.
See positions 1 and 2 for the locations of
the rear roller & latch.
NOTE:
Both the right and left sides should be greased.
Grease Application
At position 1, within the rear roof panel,
generously lubricate the roller with grease,
P/N 1161778.
At position 2 locate the locking latch and
generously lubricate with grease,
P/N1161778.
Test drive the vehicle to ensure that no
noise is heard from the rear lock latches.
