Condition




The engine control module (ECM) regulates the damper in the variable intake system (VIS) by controlling the control valve for the damper vacuum motor. By interpreting the signal from the intake air pressure sensor, the function of the system can be diagnosed. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that the damper for the variable intake system (VIS) is stuck in the closed position.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the engine operates above a certain speed (rpm).
