Checking components and wiring








- Ignition off
Disconnect the engine control module (ECM).
Check the signal wiring for the starter relay. Check for a short-circuit to supply.
Measure between:
- Control module terminal #B11 (#C11) and starter relay.
- Control module terminal #B51 (#C51) and starter relay.
Remedy as necessary.

Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.

Verification

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reconnect the connectors, components, etc.
- Run the starter motor/start the engine.
- Allow the engine to idle if it starts.
- Read the diagnostic status and fault status for the diagnostic trouble code by selecting the diagnostic trouble code in the list.
Check the fault status for the diagnostic trouble code when the scan is "Implemented". When the function is correct the fault status should be "No fault found" when the scan is implemented.
