Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The engine control module (ECM) controls the position of the camshaft (angle). The engine control module (ECM) checks that the requested position is reached. If the control module detects a difference between the requested position and the actual position, the time taken for control to reach the requested position is measured. The maximum permitted time to reach the requested position varies depending on how much the camshaft is controlled outwards. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that control is too slow during the return phase of the exhaust camshaft.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the engine is at operating temperature, the engine speed (RPM) is above a certain value and when camshaft control is active.
