Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Condition
The Driver information module (DIM) controls the relay that supplies voltage to the Start control module (SCU). Central electronic module (CEM) transmits the request to the Driver information module (DIM) to supply voltage to the Start control module (SCU).
The control module is continuously supplied with information from the Central electronic module (CEM) via CAN communication.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- No communication with the Central electronic module (CEM).
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Control module supplied with power.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.





Substitute value
- None.

Possible source
- Open-circuit in the communication cable.
- Short-circuit to ground in the communication cable.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the communication cable.
- Contact resistance, oxidation or open-circuit in the terminals.

Fault symptom[s]
- Steering column lock does not lock\unlock
- Engine fails to start
