Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The transmission control module (TCM) compares its configuration ID with the signal configuration sent out on the CAN network by the central electronic module (CEM). If the configuration IDs do not agree, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be generated. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will also be generated if communication between the transmission control module (TCM) and the central electronic module (CEM) is broken.
Note! If there is a break in both CAN wires, it will not be possible to communicate with the transmission control module (TCM). It will therefore only be possible to read the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) if such a fault is intermittent. When the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is set, the transmission control module (TCM) will respond to diagnostic commands, but it will not work for normal CAN communication "Expulsion mode".
Substitute value
- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.
Hint: Emergency mode in case of malfunction Emergency Mode In Case of Malfunction
Possible source
- Incorrect CAN configuration ID. (Transmission control module (TCM) in question is not intended for the vehicle, a used control module with another software/hardware for example).
- A break in the CAN leads between the transmission control module (TCM) and the central electronic module (CEM).
Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- No gear changing.
