Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The transmission gear changes and the lock-up function are regulated by the transmission control module (TCM) activating solenoids in specific patterns. Depending on the gear the control module has selected, the shift solenoids S1-S2activated. The control module then adapts the engagement by controlling the hydraulic pressure linearly using the linear solenoids SLT, SLU, SLC1, SLC2, SLC3 and SLB1. The basic parameters for the different shifting points are the accelerator pedal position and the vehicle speed, while the shifting quality is determined by the torque control. By reading off the changes in gearbox input shafts speed while the gear is being changed and compared with the calculated values in the transmission control module (TCM), the pressure application of the clutches and breaks can be adapted.
If the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the time between gear changes is too short, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when driving normally.
