Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The lock-up solenoid SLC3 controls the lock-up function in the gearbox. The SLC3 solenoid works when it receives power from the transmission control module (TCM) and depending on the speed, accelerator position and driving program setting, the solenoid will be activated for different driving conditions.
If the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the measured current in the solenoid circuit is incorrect, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated. The SLC3 solenoid is then not able to regulate the system pressure.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when changing gear while the linear pressure solenoid SLC3 is activated.
Substitute value
- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.
Hint: Emergency mode in case of malfunction Emergency Mode In Case of Malfunction
Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Open circuit in lead for control signal or signal ground.
- Linear pressure solenoid SLC3 stuck.
- Linear pressure solenoid SLC3 not working.
Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
- Harsh gear changing
- No gear changing.
- Abnormally slipping gears.
