Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition




If the Transmission control module (TCM) registers that drive in reverse or forward is not engaged when the gear selector is moved to position R or D, then diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-012D or TCM-012E is generated.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the engine is running.

Substitute value
- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.

Possible source
- Contact resistance in connections or one of the solenoids has stuck in OFF or ON position.
- Mechanical faults in gearbox.

Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
- No gear changing.
