Condition




Linear pressure solenoid SLT regulates the system pressure in the gearbox. The solenoid is controlled using a power stage on the output of the transmission control module (TCM).
The transmission control module (TCM) regulates the current to the solenoid with the help of the power stage. Low current gives high system pressure and high current (approx. 1A) gives low system pressure. The current strength is affected principally by the position of the accelerator pedal.
If the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the measured current in the solenoid circuit is incorrect, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated. The SLT solenoid is then not able to regulate the system pressure.

Substitute value
- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.

Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Open circuit in lead for control signal or signal ground.
- Linear pressure solenoid SLT stuck.
- Linear pressure solenoid SLT not working.

Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
- No lock-up function.
- Harsh gear changing
