Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The lock-up solenoid SLU controls the lock-up function in the gearbox. The SLU solenoid works when it receives power from the transmission control module (TCM) and depending on the speed, accelerator position and driving program setting, the solenoid will be activated for different driving conditions.
If the transmission control module (TCM)registers that the current through the circuit to the SLU solenoid is too low when the solenoid should be activated, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated. The SLU solenoid can then not be activated.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when changing gear while the lock-up function is activated.
Substitute value
- Blocking an adaptation.
- Blocking of lock-up function.
Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Open circuit in lead for control signal or signal ground.
- Solenoid not working.
- Internal fault in transmission control module (TCM).
Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
- Abnormally slipping gears.
- No lock-up function.
