Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition

Control of the transmission's changes and lock-up function occur by the transmission control module (TCM) activating the solenoids in a specific pattern. The shift solenoids S1, S2, SLT, SLC1, SLC2, SLC3 and SLB1 are activated depending on which gear the control module has selected. The basic parameters for the various gear shifting points are the position of the accelerator pedal (AP) and the vehicle speed, while the shifting quality is determined with the aid of the torque control. By reading off the changes in engine speed (RPM) on the transmission input shaft during the shifting process and comparing with the values calculated in the transmission control module (TCM), the pressurization of clutches and brakes can be adapted.
If the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the time between gear changes is too long, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when driving normally.

Substitute value
- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.

Hint: Emergency mode in case of malfunction Emergency Mode In Case of Malfunction

Possible source
- Mechanical fault in gearbox.
- Hydraulic fault in gearbox.
