Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition




The gear selector module (GSM) is located under the top panel of the lever carrier. The gear selector module (GSM) communicates with the transmission control module (TCM) via an internal network, Local Interconnect Network (LIN), for activating the gear inhibitor function (shift lock).
If the gear selector module (GSM) registers that the current passing through the solenoid for the P-detent is too high when the output on the solenoid power stage is active, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.

Substitute value
- Gear selector blocked.

Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- The signal cable is short-circuited to ground.
- Solenoid for P-detent not working.
- Internal fault in gear selector module (GSM).

Fault symptom[s]
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
- General warning lamp lit
- Gear selector cannot be moved.
