Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The gearbox output speed sensor gives the transmission control module (TCM) a signal on the speed of the output drive shaft. Using this signal, the control module can calculate the output speed of the gearbox. The signal is compared with a signal from the gearbox input speed sensor and is used to calculate the gear ratio of the gearbox as well as for diagnosis. If the control module registers that the circuit to the gearbox speed sensor is open, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed during normal driving above 30 km/h.
Substitute value
- Adaptation function is blocked.
- Lock-up function is blocked.
- Slip lock-up function is blocked.
- Neutral check function is blocked.
- The transmission control module (TCM) uses the speed signal that the brake control module (BCM) puts on the CAN network.
- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.
Hint: Emergency mode in case of malfunction Emergency Mode In Case of Malfunction
Possible source
- Open circuit in power supply or signal lead.
- Power supply or signal lead short-circuited to voltage.
- Gearbox output speed sensor not working.
- Internal fault in transmission control module (TCM).
Fault symptom[s]
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
- General warning lamp lit
- No lock-up function.
- Harsh gear changing
